There’s some (always are) excellent exhibition @tate Britain and Modern currently on. Over the Christmas break I was able to visit Theatre Picasso, Lee Miller and Turner & Constable Rivals & Originals. I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson’s films and this was brilliant to see @designmuseum with costumes, props, (incredible) stop motion models, scripts from his films. I was really thrilled to see the items from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou which is one of my favourite films ever! One of my favourite pedals I have in my collection is the @earthquakerdev Brain Dead Ghost Echo. A fantastic reverb pedal for all sorts but I love it for bluesy type riffs. Trying to get a tune out of my grandads accordion. Obviously I’m not very good at playing it although I think I’ve managed to get what I had in mind for a track which will feature on my new album I’m working on. It’s difficult to play and the weight of it had my back waving the white flag but it’s a very beautiful instrument and very special to me. Art is a huge inspiration for me when making music, particularly my instrumentals. I love looking at art feeling/hearing different sounds and tones that I can feel from the work. This exhibition @tate Modern of work from Emily Kam Kngwarray @emilykamekngwarreye was just that case. Beautiful Aboriginal art that’s full of colours, shapes and lets your imagination escape. I find art very therapeutic but this I found very therapeutic, I really lost myself looking at the work, which was lovely. Also I don’t think I’ve ever seen Aboriginal art close up, which is magic of art galleries to have that experience. Extremely inspiring and I recommend seeing, rather than my photo and video clips. Trying some recording ideas for one my tracks using my grandads old xylophone. I’m no Milt Jackson but it’s fun trying these things out. Band photos plus a bloke from the gig the other night with @p__doolan and The Valentine’s Day Massacres @dublincastlecamden - Thanks to @tommycreagh for the pics. A simple set up for my gig with @p__doolan and The Valentine’s Day Massacres @dublincastlecamden last night Back out with @p__doolan and The St Valentine’s Day Massacres this Sunday @dublincastlecamden tickets via @wegottickets
